Stern-Gerlach Experiment (U2 07 03)

As  it is said that 

They were the first to demonstrate that the spin is quantized or separated in up and down. It was sensational achievement in their time.

 at the end of this video. Nothing have to be added to this explain.
However, I explain this very roughly for my study.

At first, we should check the flow of this experiment↓

1. launch the beam of ion toward the uniform magnetic field
2. project this beam on a screen and observe

In terms of classical theory, this shows such a distribution that the most Ag ions are projected at the center of screen, and they decreace the farther and farther from the center.
However, in fact, this peak is split into two.
This shows that  the spin is quantized into upgoing spin and downgoing spin.
